Weekly challenge part one

part of the weekly challenge 'meeting the Royal' i love my characters Nyx and Sonna and the compliment each other so well even tho there is a rather big age gap between them i was thinking of them being mates?
lol i have a little story enjoy the first part

Nyx lazily lay in the empty meadow, it was her favourite place to go as very few from any prides visited as it was so low down the mountain and surrounded by such odd gems and metals, she adored it tho the peace she got from others, it wasn't they purposely annoyed her she just didn't get along with them; when she saw them anyway, she spent most of her time crafting creating more and more scars unfortunately what she was tormented for as a cub and the reason she stayed alone. but today she wasn't alone.
A small brown and purple cub sniffling near the tiny stream which ran down the side of the meadow. Nyx rolled her eyes in aggravation that her peace had been disturbed and that someone else had found her secret place. but a pang of sympathy ran through her seeing the cub all alone.
'oi brat what are you doing here?' she called to it.
the cub quickly turned around and dried her tears
'shouldn't you be in your element lesson?'
'i don't want to go' the cub huffed sounding both angry and sad 'all the other cubs tease me because i have a chest mane and say i look like a boy and i am so slow i still haven't learned as much about my first element...'
Nyx looked down at the small cub, who was trying to hold back her tears, her sympathy changed to empathy as she recalled all the teasing she endured as a cub. she tried to come up with a way to comfort her
'so what is your name brat' she asked
'sonna..' the cub replied now looking down at the floor twiddling with a piece of grass, she looked up 'what's yours?'
'Nyx'
Sonna's eyes lit up 'thats such a cool name!' she grinned happily, Nyx was confused how her mood had changed so quickly
'whats your element!?' again with the questions Nyx almost regret talking to this cub, she lay down how she had been before but now next to sonna 'my elements are fire, air and i am a metal bender'
Sonna suddenly jumped up and put her paws on Nyx's back 'WOW you are really important then, my dad said there is only two metal benders one in our pride and...' as she went on rambling. Nyx smirked to herself the Sonna had become less of an annoyance and more a comforter, then she remembered 'shouldn't you get back to your lesson?' she turned to look back at Sonna
'nope daddy said if i have more problems he will take me out and i will start my important lessons..' her voice trailed of and her face seemed to droop
'what's wrong?' seemingly more concerned as she enjoyed Sonna contagious smile and upbeat tune in her voice
'when i start my important lessons i can't go out and play like this anymore until i complete them' the disappointment in her voice was clear
'don't worry brat i will be here when you finish' she said trying to cheer up the kid
Sonna's face lit up happier than before and she bounced up on her feet
'thank you Nyx' she nuzzled Nyx 'i have to return to my dad now he will probably be mad that i stayed out so long' she bounced off across the meadow to rejoin the main area of the pride which led Nyx to wonder who her father was as she recognised her coat but couldn't remember where from, she settled on the thought her father was probably a teaching elder.

LOL wall of text XD i am not to good at writing stories so sorry this is crap XD there is a part two i am gonna write for my second bit of the weekly challenge because technically this is her 'first meeting' a royal but Nyx doesn't know it yet
